Doing Our Part to Support #BLM.
It seems as though the world has flipped on itself recently. Suddenly, concerns with COVID-19 have been somewhat quiet as the entire country unites to show support for the anti-racial movement #BLACKLIVESMATTER.
Individuals, influencers, companies, and organizations have taken to social media to express their dismay at the recent social injustices, as well as to offer words of encouragement and solidarity. Today at Bamrec, we spent a considerable amount of our day trying to contribute by working on a social media piece to show our support and alignment with #BLACKLIVESMATTER.
“We at BAMREC express our deepest condolences to the families of George Floyd, Breanna Taylor, Ahmed Aubrey, and all those in the broader Black community whose lives were lost at the hands of an unjust system and whose stories have not been shared.
At this moment in time, our stance is loud and clear: Enough is enough. We recognize the institutional racism and White Supremacy that resulted (and continues to result) in the loss of thousands of innocent Black lives and stand in solidarity with our Black brothers and sisters.
As an organization that focuses on the next generation, we do everything in our power to ensure we are instilling confidence, character, and creativity in all those partaking in our events.
Understand the prejudice that lives in our communities. We must speak out openly against racism. In this era, it is not enough to not be racist, we must actively be anti-racist.”
